2/2/2023 0 Comments Macbook wake on lan windows![]() I tried to set up Wake on LAN on my PC, it didn't work (as in I can't start it through the network) but now it keeps booting up periodically. The link was down not because of the switch, but because of a secondary power setting in the bios of the computer, besides WoL having to be turn on, a power saver mode had to be turned off as well, it's working now. I posted it to sysadmin and here not knowing which one I should use.ĮDIT: I'm dumb but it took you guys to show me. The magic packet is being sent from a Novell Zenworks Server running 11.3, it's on the same subnet, and when the computer is turned on I can use Wireshark and see the packet arrive, but when off it seemingly never reaches it's destination. Is this just a thing with juniper? I've tried to figure it out, I'm not to versed in juniper, I have my CCNA and work on Cisco devices normally, but this location uses Juniper switches. I've tried changing the aging timer, tried setting a persistent mac, but it still happens regardless. The second you unplug (or turn off) the device connected to the port of the switch, juniper takes the mac address out of the table, so when the magic packet is sent from the server, it never reaches the shutdown computer. ![]() ![]() I'm trying to set up WoL in my environment, and found the issue is residing in the mac address table for the juniper switches.
